You can spend $6,000 to fly half-way around the world on the chance that you might see a wild boar from the back of a dusty, rented, uncomfortable jeep, OR you can spend $8 and drive through a 100-acre preserve and be guaranteed to see at least 50 different species of wild animals from the comfort of your own car.
Really?
The African Safari Wildlife Park is a drive-through wildlife park just a few hours north of Cincinnati in Port Clinton, OH.
Once there you can drive through the 100-acre preserve observing and feeding the animals from the family car. You will spend as much time in the preserve as you wish and that’s BEFORE disembarking to walk through Safari Junction.
In the wildlife park you’ll see more than 50 species in their natural habitat including giraffes, ostriches, zebras (including the rare white zebra), water buffalo, alpaca, llama, warthogs, dromedary and Bactrian camels, deer, elk, bison and giant eland.
Many of the animals will come right up to your car; they are as curious of you as you are of them, plus they also like to be fed. Then again who doesn’t? We will provide each car with one container of food and additional food can be purchased so that you can drive around the preserve as often as you wish.
The park is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is one of the leaders in conservation efforts for the animals it supports. Current breeding efforts are focused on the alpaca, white zebra, giraffe and giant eland.

There’s a lot to do and see at African Safari Wildlife Park!
Stroll Safari Junction walk-thru, where visitors enjoy camel rides (restrictions apply), our famous daily Pork Chop Downs pig races and “Laugh with the Animals”, our daily educational animal shows (see posted signs for schedule, or visit our website), and the kids will love Jungle Junction Play land!
With all there is to do and see, many visitors tell us they enjoy making a day of it! While you’re here, tour the drive-thru as many times as you like and feed the animals from the comfort of your own vehicle.*
Some of our animals are more active during different times of the day, so on your second (or third) trip through you may catch a glimpse of an animal you didn’t see the first time, watch feedings or keeper interactions with the animals, and maybe even witness the miracle of life as baby animals are born daily!

The animals aren’t the only ones who enjoy the food at African Safari!
During your visit you will find a wide variety of top quality menu items including hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, cold drinks, hand-dipped ice cream and more, at prices comparable to area fast food restaurants.
Many exhibits are viewable from our outdoor deck seating, so you won’t miss any of the fun while you enjoy your meal.
Safari Grill
Eat at our Safari Grill! Menu items include; cheeseburgers, grilled chicken breasts, hot dogs and soft pretzels. Made to order from our grill, all meals include a side order of chips, popcorn or a bag of pretzels and a fountain drink.
There are picnic tables located throughout Safari Junction (sorry, no personal grills are allowed).
Group Events
Group rates are available for all organized groups; busses are welcome. Our Safari Guides are available to accompany groups as they tour the park (reservations required). We also offer special rates for tours, and commissions are available for travel, bus, or group agents. For more info, call us at 800-521-2600.

*NOTE: For the health and well being of our animals, only the food we provide is permitted. Feeding the animals is at your own risk and you accept the risk of injury or vehicle damage by purchasing a ticket. No motorcycles or open convertibles permitted in the drive-thru (Busses, cars and closed campers are allowed.) Stay in your vehicle at all times and follow rules listed in the Visitors Handbook. Dates, hours, shows exhibits, and rates subject to change.
